Pilbara Sand

Raw Silk Jacket Inspiration

The Pilbara is a large, arid and thinly populated region in the north of Western Australia. It is known for its Aboriginal peoples, its ancient landscapes, and its vast mineral deposits - the latter of which contribute significantly to Australia's mining economy.

Joe, who was a geologist by trade, was often in awe of the giant earth movers that would rumble through the mining fields, leaving enormous tyre marks etched into the sandy earth beneath. Drawing upon this inspiration, the 'Pilbara Sand Tracks' Raw Silk Jacket emulates the tyre tracks in the sand grains with its parallel vertical lines alternating between a herringbone and snakeskin weave. The sandy-coloured and black silk create a classic and interesting look, perfectly paired with dress trousers or casual pants.
