Discovered in 1938 in Lightning Ridge, NSW, the Aurora Australis Black Opal remains the world’s most valuable Black Opal—a gemstone that captures the mystical dance of the Southern Lights. Best known for its flawless oval cut, harlequin pattern, and a dominant green glow, this opal is a celestial marvel embedded in the Australian earth.
Inspired by this legendary stone, the Aurora Australis Handwoven Raw Silk Jacket brings the depth and brilliance of this natural wonder to life. The rich interplay of deep blacks, radiant greens, and shifting primary hues creates a truly dynamic textile, with the green silk appearing as a tertiary effect, much like the hidden iridescence of the opal itself.
Crafted in our signature Opal Thatch Weave, this jacket is perfect for the cooler months, lending an effortlessly sophisticated dark-on-dark aesthetic.

You will receive a complimentary Fitting Consult (by Zoom) with one of our Lead Stylists with any purchase of a custom tailored Jacket. Our team will contact you as soon as possible to schedule this at a convenient time for you.
This will include full measuring, a styling consult and our undivided attention to ensure you get the Perfect Fit for you and your taste.
We will then craft a pattern with your name on it, cut your garment to size and make from scratch just for you. Our Tailored collection is true custom fitting for the Perfect Fit Guarantee.
