When the Dutch East Indies were at their peak of their powers, Willy Jansz (Willem Janszoon) was a rockstar Navigator who accidentally stumbled on the great southern land on his summer tour of 1605-06 on board the 'Duyfken'. Sadly, old mate thought his landfall near Cape York, Queensland was an extension of the coast of PNG and thank goodness for that or I would be typing this in Dutch. He noted there was a distinct lack of Tulips up in that region, (Wepia is not the place to grow Tulips) so this shirt is my Naval Salute to Janszy for his visit.
