Raw Silk Jacket Inspiration

Petroleum, or Black Gold as it is sometimes referred to, is a naturally occurring, yellow-to-black liquid found in geological formations beneath the Earth's surface. The word petroleum comes from Ancient Greek: petra, "rock" and oleum, "oil”. A fossil fuel, petroleum is formed when large quantities of dead organisms, usually zooplankton and algae, are buried underneath sedimentary rock and subjected to both intense heat and pressure.

This fossil fuel is the natural inspiration for the ‘Black Gold’ Raw Silk Jacket. The muted gold silk is interwoven with black to give visual contrast to this classic weave. Simple in nature, this jacket can be styled for formal occasions with a shirt and trousers, or paired back for a more relaxed look with a t-shirt and denim.
